For many people the revival of the destroyed Frauenkirche is still a miracle. Klaus Willem Sitzmann, born and raised in Fulda, came to Dresden in 2002 for the first time, to help victims of the flood. Fascinated by the emerging Frauenkirche under the framework, he remained in Dresden and accompanied the reconstruction of the famous church and the surrounding neighborhoods with his camera. Thus arose over 200 000 beautiful, irreplaceable photographs.

The main building was rebuilt in 2011 by the architect Daniel Libeskind.
