World Cup fever in the legendary “Stollen”
In the 80’s the “Stollen” (mine) in the Hotel Steigenberger was the cult disco of the region. Top stars and groups such as Trio Eugster, Roy Black, Peter, Sue und Marc appeared regularly at the club which was famous for its great atmosphere.
For the duration of the World Cup in South Africa the “Stollen” is open again for the first time in 15 years! This time as a World Cup Lounge. Between 11th June and 11th July all of the 64 matches will be shown on a large projection screen and a large monitor, ensuring the best view, accompanied by the best pary atmosphere. Before and after matches there are chances to win the “tip of the day” play table football or on the X-Box or just enjoy some music.
The first highlight, after the opening game, is on Saturday 12th June. At 8.30 pm one of the tournament favorites, England plays against the USA and the new manager of the hotel, Peter Martin – in English native, will be personally serving the guests. We have it on good authority that he can be very spendable when his team wins!
On Sunday, when the Germans play their first match at 8.30 pm against Australia a big crowd is expected, and on Wednesday, when the Swiss “Nati” commence their World Cup campaign, the hotel will be giving a round out when the Swiss score their first goal.
So, take the chance to enjoy the unique atmosphere of the “Stollen” once more, without having to pay an entrance fee or to reserve.
