Concert Remarquable
Legends of passion
Great music is a world full of grand emotions, transmitted in a secretive language. Composers are therefore seen as being special people. Especially because they have sacrificed their life to music and have often forgone the joys of “normal” life. They live out their passion in other ways and generously allow us, the listeners, to partake of it.
The two authors, Annette Kristina Banse and Christian Schmidt-Banse, tell of this passion with well-chosen words on each of the evenings, hand in hand with music played by maestros.
“Les Concerts Remarquables” are generously sponsored by the Stiftung Niedersachsen and the Musikhaus Bössmann.

“…because, due to my ill health I had to leave the altar three times” – Antonio Vivaldi: a Venetian fairy-tale
He was a beacon of Italian musical high culture: but his stature was petite and he was sickly. And yet Antonio Vivaldi, whose chosen profession was that of a priest, had something of a rapid rise to fame … not just as a sensational violin virtuoso, not just as the composer of the “Four Seasons”, but also as an entrepreneur, opera impresario and, above all, as the instrumental teacher at the girls orphanage “Ospedale della Pietà” in Venice. If there was ever an artistically and commercially successful self-made-man, then it was he. Truly a Venetian fairy-tale which has to be told. Michal Majersky and Friends
