El Gouna – The lagoon city on the Red Sea
The immaculately maintained holiday resort of El Gouna, north of Hurghada, offers something for everyone – the Red Sea, snorkelling, golf or just plain relaxation.
Countless small canals run through El Gouna. Hence its nickname: the Venice of Egypt. You can easily reach any corner of the resort by water taxi, however. In the process, you will glide under countless bridges, along splendid gardens and lagoons, and past African- and Mediterranean-style buildings in bright red and yellow. Stretching over many kilometres, El Gouna's sandy beach offers a wide range of water sports activities. Boats take off from Abu Tig Marina on snorkelling and diving excursions. El Gouna is especially popular with golfers. Steigenberger Golf Resort is scenically located on a peninsula and has its own 18-hole championship golf course.

Guests must be fully clothed in all indoor areas; beachwear is reserved to pool and beach bars only.
