The Steigenberger Hotel Treudelberg Hamburg is being modernized.
The owner is investing around 13 million euros into the modernization of the Steigenberger Hotel Treudelberg Hamburg. The building works start in April 2019 and the reopening of the country house is planned for the first quarter of 2020. While the works are taking place the hotel will continue to operate in the separate, 90-room atrium, which was opened in 2008.

The renovation and conversion work is intended to give the traditional building, the "country house" of the Steigenberger Hotel Treudelberg Hamburg, a modern appearance. At the same time, the charm of the house will be retained to match the idyllic Hamburg Alstertal location. Once the work is completed, guests will have access to 131 freshly renovated rooms and suites, ten event rooms for up to 260 people, three restaurants and bars and a large indoor pool with two saunas and a steam room. The 27-hole championship golf course with a generous driving range and pitch & put facility and the Vinoble Day Spa round off the hotel’s wide range of facilities.

As part of the upcoming conversion and renovation works, a temporary move of the entire hotel operation into the adjacent Atrium is planned. This separate building has 90 rooms, designed and furnished to modern standards, seminar rooms and its own restaurant area.
During the construction works, guests will continue to have access to the Vinoble Day Spa with tepidarium and a Salina Vita, since they are also in the atrium. The country club with fitness studio, sauna and pool will also be available to guests almost continuously.
The distance between the two buildings means that guests will not be inconvenienced by the building works. Even the golf will remain unaffected.

Sunroom. A la carte restaurant. Golf center.

The conversion of the country house will mean that the catering will also be relocated. The extension means that the new restaurant Lemsahler will offer a bright sunroom with up to 146 covers. The cuisine will be regional with a modern twist with seasonal ingredients from the surrounding area. A major focus of this will be placed on natural products.
Furthermore, restaurant guests will now have a direct entrance. The new golf centre is being built on the site of the current restaurant. The Golf Club restaurant can be found next to the Golf reception
and the Pro Shop.

131 room in the country house. Private Spa Suite. Fittings and furnishings.
As part of the conversion, all rooms of the country house will be thoroughly refurbished. The majority of the
furnishings will be produced especially for the hotel. For example, the existing massive armchairs will be refurbished and reupholstered. The bed headboards will also be intricately restored. In this way the topic of sustainability is being addressed, while also giving the design of the rooms a modern country house feel.
The newly designed room categories are another addition, with features such as a private spa suite with balcony and terrific view of the parkland, its own jacuzzi, sauna and infrared cabin; providing for an enjoyable, private wellness experience. All rooms are fitted with high-quality oak flooring, new bathrooms with Korean vanity units and new furnishings.

Lobby and bar

Check-in at eye level. Treudelbar.

The conversion will give the lobby area of the Steigenberger Hotel Treudelberg Hamburg a complete makeover. The new reception area provides for check-in at eye level. This involves two check-in desks with seating for guests instead of a counter. After the renovations, the entire lobby will provide an inviting ambience for guests. Massive fabric curtains will separate the entrance area from the bar and terrace without completely screening off the view of the golf course and the Alstertal. Seating areas and the fireplace will entice guests to take afternoon tea in the cozy surroundings.
The Treudelbar will also be completely redesigned. The counter, designed in the shape of a communication table,
allows the guests to mingle with one another and with the bartender. An ideal place for the signature drinks such as the Treudelberg Sprizz.

Meeting rooms

The ten meeting and conference rooms will be updated to state-of-the-art in terms of design, as well as available conference technology. Some of the conference rooms will also be relocated within the building – after the renovations, there will be two meeting rooms with terrace and a view over the verdant Alstertal.

Vinoble Day Spa & Country Club

The country club and also the hotel's swimming pool will remain open during the entire renovation works except for one brief period. After this, all guests can look forward to new levels of comfort and design here too.

Statement on the renovation measures

Michael Fritz, Director.
“I am very much looking forward to the Treudelberg’s upcoming facelift. As part of the planning, we have placed great emphasis on retaining the country house's charm while also turning it into a modern urban resort in the green Alstertal.”
Bernhard Garbe, initiator, architect and co-founder of the Treudelberg.
“We are already looking forward to the re-opening of our hotel TREUDELBERG as an icon of hospitality in the Alstertal ... and we thank everyone who is working on it!”

The Steigenberger Treudelberg will not be announcing any operational redundancies. Instead, the hotel is giving its employees various training opportunities and positions in other hotels during the renovations so that they can gain additional experience.
